Keswick Traditional Christmas Fayre takes place on Sunday 4th December, at 11.30am. Now in its 23rd year, the fayre is a popular weekend with businesses and stallholders dressing in Victorian or Traditional style clothing.
The highlight of the fayre this year is a procession of santa with real reindeer! Equally colourful local characters will be there providing entertainment making it an occasion not to be missed.

Now we know that you don't come to the Lake District to watch TV! But how many times have you stayed somewhere, turned on the television and been disappointed with the picture size and quality?
Well not at Howe Keld! In mountainous areas like Keswick terrestrial signals are often compromised so we have invested heavily to deliver a satellite signal to all double rooms..
In a nut shell this all means you can listen to and watch well over 160 TV and radio channels (if you feel so inclined!) including High Definition programmes - all broadcast by Freesat.
Every double bedroom has a 32" LCD Panasonic as a minimum. Many have 37" LED flatscreens and we have just installed a whopping 42" Panasonic LED in the Junior Suite.
No need to view TV through a magnifying glass in any of our rooms!
Theatre by the Lake announces their Winter Production
9th November
The Theatre By The Lake, which is just 5 mins walk from Howe Keld, has annouced the "charming and explosive" Winter Production of The Firework-Maker's Daughter. The production will run from Saturday 26 November to Saturday 7 January.
Described as "delightful family entertainment to end the year with a bang" and created by Philip Pullman, the story is set in the tropical jungle of Indonesia. The production is the story of young Lila and her quest to discover the secrets of the Firework-Makers craft.

Howe Keld raises £6500 for the Nurture Lakeland project3rd November
We have just had news that over the last 3 years since we joined the Nurture Lakeland project, Howe Keld and our wonderful guests have raised £6500! Our chosen areas of funding are "Save our Squirrels" and "The Osprey Project". The money has been raised by asking each of our guests to donate £1 per stay at Howe Keld.
We are passionate about the beautiful area we so lucky to live in so we are delighted that we can give something back by raising funds to look after, protect and help these two endangered species of animal in Cumbria and the Lake District. Nobody could of predicted the rise to fame of Social Media on the internet and how it now takes a part of many people's daily lives. A recent survey found that 1 in every 9 seconds of internet time in the UK was spent on the Social Media site, Facebook. Astounding!
Now the summer is over and autumn is approaching, we have taken the time to setup our new Howe Keld Facebook page which we will be updating to give you regular information on news, events, happenings and special offers going on at Howe Keld, but also in the town of Keswick and in the Lake District National Park.

Water Filter Installed!
18th September
Our latest venture, a double water filter, has now been installed at Howe Keld. Although the tap water is straight from the mains providing great quality local Lake District drinking water we have now even improved on that by removing any chlorine and fluoride traces to give great tasting water in the bedrooms. We provide a complimentary litre bottle each day (and will replenish it as you wish).

Rick Steves stays for 5 nights at Howe Keld along with a TV Film crew  17th August We were very pleased to welcome back Rick Steves to Howe Keld for a 5 night stay with his TV film crew. During the stay they have been busy filming a programme on the North of England and particularly the Lake District and Keswick area for a new documentary to be broadcast on PBS across the USA in 2012. In spite of a very wet few days they got extremely good footage of various inside and outdoor locations in the area. The last day provided the much awaited sunshine to show off lakes Derwentwater, Buttermere and Ullswater at their best. Val and David were delighted that Howe Keld could show off its breakfast offering amongst other shots of the accommodation. We look forward to welcoming our friends from across "The Pond" as a result! | ||
 The Annual Christian Keswick Convention is starting this Saturday 16th July 12th July We are delighted to welcome The SASRA (Soldier's and Airman's Scripture Readers Association) House party to Howe Keld for 2 weeks.
