“One night stay ”
We have stayed at Howe Keld previously and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The levels of cleanliness, attention to detail and hospitality are fantastic and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

“Excellent place to stay ”
We had a great time all areas above we feel are of 5 star rating, the cleanliness was of a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the value for money was great, rooms were very nice and comfortable.
The location was excellent and convenient, the owners David and Valerie we very welcoming, and we will be booking another stay.
We also would like to thank them for returning our phone charger left by accident so promptly. A service above and beyond but really appreciated.

“Two nights while touring Britain ”
We loved Howe Keld! The proprietors were friendly and the breakfast was great. Wonderfully luxurious comfortable bed, and restful uncluttered decor. There wasn't the chatting with other guests at breakfast common in other B & B's, more like a personalized hotel. A great spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Lake District. • All the creature comforts my Californian wife is used to
• Close to town so we could walk everywhere

Dear Valerie and David,
Thank you for a wonderful stay with you at Howe Keld! All four of us agreed that we could not fault you in any way. The bedrooms were so comfortable and no stone has been unturned in terms of the quality and comfort and use of local resources. A few examples: instant hot water, the well resourced local hand wash and cream/shampoo,/body wash, the filtered bottled water, the carpet with local rare breed sheep wool, the glorious bed linen! The breakfasts were just the best with a wide choice - it was such a difficult decision each evening to make a choice and we liked the list left out on the table! The food was lovingly prepared individually and brought to the table at just the right time. The buffet was also unusual and interesting with the seeds etc.
The service you both offer is so personal and accessible without being intrusive and the whole experience made us feel pampered and special. A rare experience these days!
We congratulate you on and commend your continued efforts to make Howe Keld the best B&B we've ever stayed in anywhere not just The Lake District.

“Great place to stay”
We had a great time at Howe Keld. The owners gave us very helpful tips about what to see, where to eat and how to go, marking on the map the highlights of the area. It is very convenient to everything, right beside the trail to the lake as well as to the underpass trail into town. The room itself, although one of their smallest, was still roomy enough for two and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was one of the best on our travels and the table was reserved so we knew we would not have to wait until someone vacated the dining area. The Internet access was very good. Thanks to Valerie & David and other excellent staff for a great stay in your fantastic B&B.
We greatly enjoyed our nice luxurious room and the personal approach by both of you.
Thank you again David for driving us to the beginning of the climb of Skiddaw so we could climb up the less crowded side and come back over the busier side. We also enjoyed your enthousiastic stories about fell running and your own experiences!
Last but not least: we were already impressed by the luxurious breakfast while staying with you, but we appreciated it even more after having stayed in other B&Bs in the Lake District!
If ever we come back to the Lake District, we will be happy to book a room in Howe Keld again.

As we visit the lakes quite often in particular Keswick I think we have finally found the ideal location for our future visits. It was a very friendly welcome, all the staff were very professional in there role within the the hotel.
