“Excellent place for a Lake District break ”
This is our third stay at this hotel and we would not go anywhere else in Keswick. The owners have taken time to ensure that each room is comfortable and well presented. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast is excellent with a good range including a full vegetarian option and fresh fruit.

Room and all areas are spotless; staff always helpful and friendly; you get what you pay for and at Howe Keld we get everything we need at what I think is a very fair price (similar B & B in Oxfordshire is more expensive) ; Keswick is a great location for access to the Fells and is easy for evening meals, good beer and replacing worn out boots; excellent services and facilities. “Delightful Stay”
We found everything about Howe Keld to be excellent - check in, cleanliness, room amenities (especially the heated towel rack), breakfast, staff, and location. The bed was the most comfortable of our trip to England and Scotland. The location was convenient to hiking, theater, shopping and restaurants. We were only disappointed in the fact that we could not stay longer. Beautiful, clean accommodation. David and Valerie you are simply welcoming friendly and helpful. “Would have no hesitation in returning”
The 4 stars for 'Staff Service' reflected the initial non appearance of a pot of tea at breakfast and then our pre-ordered cooked breakfast.
However, the reaction of staff was immediate and apologetic.

“Excellent in every way”
Couldn't fault it. We arrived early but this was no problem at all the room was lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was first class with lots of choice and because you ordered the night before it was ready in an instant. The Guest House is situated just off the town centre and close to the park and lake a short stroll to everything.

This was our third stay at the Howe Keld. David and Valerie are lovely hosts and run an excellent, comfortable bed and breakfast. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable and immaculately clean. “Lovely clean place, good location for exploring.”
Clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed rooms in a great location--very easy walking into Keswick and easy driving around the Lake District. Fantastic bathroom in our top-floor room; do be aware that there is no lift (elevator), so folks who have trouble with stairs should inquire about rooms on lower or ground floors. Warm welcoming place coloured and furnitured beautifully, spotless rooms, breathtaking view of the fells from my window, ideally located to leave the car parked and going down to the lake or into town on foot, very friendly and committed hosts equipping me with much appreciated advice where to go and dine and providing maps and personal advice for walks and tours, excellent breakfast with a large selection of freshly cooked breakfast - even for vegetarians - with regional products of high quality. I really enjoyed coming "home" every day and slept excellently during my stay there. I also liked the guest information I found in my room making me even further interested in the region.
