The room was spacious and beautifully furnished. We appreciated the king-size bed and the goose down duvet very much. Breakfast was a real highlight - high quality ingredients cooked beautifully. David and Valerie were really friendly and cheerful. Service all round was excellent and we appreciated little touches like their leaving us a whole pot of coffee every morning after spotting on our first day that we like a lot of coffee in the mornings! My partner and i came to Keswick for a weekend away. The hotel is beautifully appointed with fresh clean appearance. We were greeted by David who couldnt have been kinder, and more accomodating. I found the owners to be i real breath of fresh air, prepared to help/advise without imposing. The location of the Howe Keld is perfect for access to keswick, the park and the derwent water lake. We got out 'launch' tickets at the hotel and saved a few pounds in doing so. A great holiday break. Very comfortable accommodation with superb breakfast served by friendly, helpful and courteous staff. knowledgeable suggestions about walking and eating in the area making for an even better overall experience. We really enjoyed our stay at the Howe Keld. The room was very clean and cosy and had a wonderful view. There was a great selection of food for breakfast too, all very tasty and well cooked. “Wonderful stay!”
We will definitely be back at HoweKeld when we return to Keswick! David and Valerie were very welcoming and kind. Our room on the first floor was very clean and modern, had a great view from a bay window over the pitch and putt course. Good sized room and bathroom, with heated towel rack and good pressure shower. Even had a big tray for our dirty boots. We have stayed at Howe Keld on 2 previous occasions and find the accommodation offers all we would require for a short break : comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms, good range of choice at breakfast and friendly service.
The location is handy for the town centre, lakeside walks, the Theatre by the Lake and eating places. A good base for a range of Lake Disrict activities.

“Excellent as always!”
We have regularly stayed at Howe Keld over the last 4 years and as always David & Valerie were excellent hosts. Nice extras since our last visit were complimentary chocolates on arrival in the rooms (which are always of a superb standard); plus filtered water replenished daily.
The service is always first class and the owners are most welcoming and willing to go out of their way to help. The second day of our stay was particulary wet (after all it is the Lakes!) and when we arrived back at Howe Keld Valerie kindly offered to dry our wet walking clothes and boots overnight!

A very comfortable B&B , good sized room with plenty of space and two decent comfortable chairs. Breakfast was excellent , plenty of choice well cooked and very full plates! “Fantastic relaxing stay in Keswick”
David and Valerie, the owners, and the breakfast team were fantastic all through our stay. They take good care of their clients, are always available if any help is needed, give amazing suggestions to discover the area, they clearly love their job and do it amazingly well. We felt like at home, our bedroom, N°12 wasn't one big one, but it was very cosy, clean and comfy. I wish we were not so far away from the beautiful Lake District... if we ever return there, we'll stay at the Howe Keld again.
