“very good” Howe Keld is an example of exactly what a B&B should be like. Owners were extremely useful in imparting local knowledge and could not do enough, staff were very good and friendly, service at breakfast was excellent. Breakfast itself was superb and beats many major international hotels I have stayed in hands-down. Rooms were very clean, high quality finish and furniture, comfortable and warm. The shower was a bit on the small side but that is the only improvement I could suggest.

“Fantastic” We have stayed at Howe Keld in the past and it is always fantastic experience. The newly decorated rooms are lovely and as always we had a restful stay. in my opinion the best place to stay in Keswick.

“Outstanding” We loved every minute of our stay in Keswick and at Howe Keld in particular. We especially appreciated Dave and Valerie taking the time to help us plan our walks each day. They even loaned us books and maps to take with us. Our room was extremely clean, and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the supplies of hot chocolate, black tea, and instant coffee. (I prefer herbal teas and asked to take some from the breakfast room to our room.) Speaking of breakfast, there were lots of different high-quality foods to choose from, including a cold cereal/fruit buffet, baked goodies, and a choice of cooked breakfasts. We have nothing but good things to say about Howe Keld and wish we didn't have to leave!

“Fantastic” From the moment you arrive you are made welcome by the owners. We stayed in two rooms over a weekend extended by the weather, and both were of an exceptional standard. Breakfast was looked forward to and didn't disappoint. It has a great location. We also stayed at a highly rated hotel during our time in the lakes, and Howe Keld was superior in every facet. Thank you David and Valerie we certainly hope to return.

“Excellent” David and Valerie were very caring hosts and their breakfasts lived up to expectations in variety and taste. The comfort and decor of the room ensured a relaxed stay, and we loved the use of local natural materials of wood and slate. They are to be commended for their commitment to responsible tourism, and their literature challenged us to think carefully about enjoying the area and looking after our planet.

“Really friendly; great room, great food.” My Wife and I were looking for a weekend break in the Lakes to do some hill walking after a long winter and found this place on the web - it looked great. We were looking for something a bit special. Wow! We were not disapointed. The room was amazing, the shower and bath a luxury and the breakfast was so good and filling that it kept us going most of the day! We'll be back - it's high on our list...

We had a great stay, the room was beautifully designed (which means a lot to us), the breakfast was really tasty and we felt very welcomed and comfortable. If we could have nestled in the middle of the hills with nothing else around it would've been heaven!

“Great stay - Highly recommended” As part of a young couple, i usually stay in hotels as we have found many B&Bs too stuff in atomsphere especially during breakfast time, so it was with a little apprehension that i booked to stay for a few nights at Howe Keld. However Having stayed there for the first time last week and was very impressed. The rooms were beautifully presented with alot of attention to the little details taken. The entire property was immaculately clean, had a pleasant atmosphere(especially during breakfast time) and the owners were extremely welcoming and efficient. I really liked that I was provided with a map of the area with personal recommendations on where to eat an drink marked on. In future I will definately be making this the only establishment I stay at in Keswick.

“Excellent overall” This is 4th time we've visited How Keld. Has now become our 'default' accomodation when visiting Keswick. All aspects, from the room to breakfast to staff welcome are spot on and can't be faulted. Well done as always and keep up the good work!! (if only all B&B's were like this!!)

“Absolutely fantastic!” Fabulous accommodation in a great location.. Only a few minutes walk into the Town Centre, and only 5 minutes walk to the lake shore. The accommodation was spotless and beautifully appointed. The owners were wonderfully friendly and full of ideas in terms places to go and things to do. The breakfast was fantastic, and we loved the extra touches such as freshly baked breads, etc.

“Very relaxing in superb accommodation ” We are very keen to stay somewhere at least as clean and comfortable as home. Howe Keld comes up to the mark every time. We are made to feel very welcome but not overwhelmed by David and Val. we would have no hesitation in recommending Howe Keld to friends and family - and regularly do

“Wonderful weekend in Keswick” My friend and I had a wonderful weekend in Keswick. It was so nice to come back to Howe Keld after a cold day's hike to a relaxing environment. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, the bathtub was relaxing. I really liked the locally made lotions and soaps. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. I would love to visit again someday. Thanks so much David and Valerie!

“Room 8, November 2012” We received a friendly welcome, and lots of advice on where to eat locally and spent a highly enjoyable three days in Keswick based in this really central location. The room was beautifully designed, clean, well appointed, quiet and very comfortable (particularly the bed). The daily bottle of filtered water is a really good idea (and one that hotels would do well to copy). The bathroom was also fantastic, with both bath and shower and lovely local toiletries. There was a great choice of breakfast and it was really well prepared. It is well worth straying from the full Cumbrian to try out the other options if you are there for a few nights. My only niggle was that the car park was a bit tight for larger cars, although this was not a real problem in November - I would be more worried about being able to park in the summer. Howe Keld is certainly not a budget option, but you get what you pay for, and it is head and shoulders above other B&Bs and hotels in the area. I would highly recommend it as a treat.
