“Excellent”
Lovely faclilty, good sized rooms w/ nice amenitites (great hairdyer!) and in room wireless access. Comfy beds, showers have great water pressure. Very friendly staff & excellent service. Nice variety for breakfast, good food! David provided recommendations for dining, hiking and was very responsive to other requests (including parking my car!). Excellent location! Our stay at Howe Keld was excellent. We received a warm welcome and patient assistance from the owners in orienting us to Keswick. The handmade furniture, beautiful linens and soothing colors as well as the obvious attention to environmental concerns created a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The many choices and the quality of food, the attentive service, and the overall cheerfulness of the staff contributed to making our stay memorable. “Wonderful stay!”
Our family required a triple room and the one at Howe Keld was both spacious and meticulously clean. The beds were great and we were all very comfortable. The hotel was in an ideal location, close to both the lake and the town. Breakfasts were lovely, many choices and all well prepared. The service from the proprietors to the wait staff were top notch. We've just returned from visiting the UK and stayed at 5 different hotels with this one being the top of our list. “Wonderful”
Junior suite was large, clean, full of features and little touches.
Breakfast was the best I've ever had because of the organic, healthy food available.
Little touches like seeds and homemade bread, salmon and ensuring we were well looked after.
Really couldn't have had a better place to stay

“Excellent facility and staff. Superbly run.”
The aspirations of many B&Bs is to preserve friendliness and intimacy while being superbly run. Few have achieved this, in our opinion, as well as Howe Keld. David and his staff went out of their way to advise and help us with suggestions about the area; breakfast was varied and always well presented and prepared; and the room was very comfortable and clean. Wifi - via the use of repeaters on each floor - was strong and excellent throughout. Our only minor gripe was that cross-ventilation in our third floor room was a challenge which required us to prop our door open. Not a big issue since this is a small facility and there were only two or three other rooms on that floor and our privacy was not affected. Heartily recommended. “Perfect base for our weekend in Keswick. ”
We stayed here for three nights in June. I was doing a fell race and this was the perfect location for the start/finish. The hosts accommodated us as for an early breakfast on the day of the event. Our room, no 7, was very comfortable and the larger beds and bath were great. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Keswick. We really like the environmentally friendly touches also. This was my first visit to the UK. Touring Scotland and Lakes area, I had only booked two nights in HK but wanted to stay for many more. One of the best B&B's we have stayed in. Location is perfect close to restaurants, theatre and town centre. No parking problems. It is absolutely spotless. We stayed in the junior suite which was stylish and contemporary with a fabulous bed, utter comfort. Even the pillows were divine. The breakfast was just delicious and beautifully cooked.
