The front looks splendid in Summer with a fine showing of some 20 multi coloured hanging baskets hovering above window boxes ablaze with scarlet geraniums. Such is the impact of this floral display that the Guest House has won major awards on 2 consecutive occasions in the Keswick in Bloom competition.
One minute's walk from Howe Keld and you are in Hope Park which offers miniature golf, pitch and putt, crazy golf and magnificent gardens. These adjoin Keswick's newly built theatre by the Lake.

Lake Derwentwater
A short stroll onwards and the Lake path will bring you face to face with one of Europe's finest views, Friars Crag which affords a magnificent panoramic vista over Derwentwater. Framed by the ridge of Cat Bells to the West and the peaty wasteland of Bleaberry Fell to the East, this is a sight which has inspired poets and photographers alike. Friars Crag also bears a monument to Ruskin a Lake District famous poet whose home in Coniston is well worth a visit.
