Built within a modern, highly-insulated ‘green’ timber framework, the luxury rooms are spacious, high-ceilinged and Alpine ‘chalet’ like . With hardwood floors in oak, cherry, beech or elm ( all local and naturally felled ), local furniture maker Danny Frost has also designed the bed heads, cupboard doors, dressing table tops, bedside tables and coffee tables. All compelling features!
The Luxury style rooms also have King-size or twin 2000 pocket sprung mattresses made with cotton, silk and cashmere fillings – unadulterated luxury of the sort usually to be found in 4 and 5 star hotels. Colours are warm, natural and modern and the bedding is made from the finest Egyptian cotton. Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows add that extra touch of luxury! (hollofibre available). Each room includes a 37" Panasonic Viera Freesat Flatscreen TV. These show full HD quality pictures when broadcast.
The ensuites have white enamelled baths and separate walk in showers - unusual even for a top quality B&B. The green slate floors are supplied by the Kirkstone Slate Company. There are feature walls from Cole and Son to match with the curtain fabrics and both are complemented by environmentally-friendly paint from Farrow and Ball. In our opinion the extra quality compensates for any lack of view.
